January has flown by so quickly, it is hard to believe that February is almost here. A few updates, reminders and info to share…
We have added more support classes for students, before school computer lab and afterschool homework club. Student participation is by teacher recommendation. In addition grade levels are providing targeting intervention support before/after school.
PTA and Site Leadership have reconvened the tech committee from last year to evaluate our school needs. You may have already received information from the Go Fund Me site for donations. Please consider Olive School when you are making a tax deductible donation.
Traffic concerns still persist; many students, many families coming and going all at the same time. The Plum lot is not a pick up/drop off area for students. This lot is for our special education drop off/pick up. You can park on Plum and walk your child down to class. Peach Street is not a drop off area also. It severely impacts the neighborhood and is dangerous since there are not consistent sidewalks. Olive parking lot is the best place to drop off/pick up.
If your child has lost any clothing, please check the lost and found before February 13. We will be donating items left at school after that date.
Kindergarten registration has begun. Your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2015 to enter Traditional Kindergarten or 5 years old on or before December 2, 2015 for Transitional Kindergarten (TK). You can pick up a packet at our office or go online.
Please join me in the cafeteria on Friday, February 6 at 9:00 a.m., for First Friday Coffee.
